Dashboard Confessional

Dashboard Confessional is a band from Florida that can be categorized under the genre of emo-rock. It's members consist of Chris Carrabba (lead vocals, guitar, keys), Johnny Lefler (guitar, vocals, keys), Mike Marsh (drums/vocal), and Scott Shoenbeck (bass).

The band's name comes from the Dashboard song: "The Sharp Hint of New Tears" (which originally appeared on The Swiss Army Romance album). The name comes from the line: "on the way home, this car hears my confessions". Although it was started as a solo side project Chris didn't want it to be called "Chris Carrabba", because he wanted to include his talented friends.

Carrabba's music was flooded with emotion through deep diary-like lyrics.

I would have to say that Dashbord Confessional is a phenomenon when it comes to seeing them live. If you've ever been to a Dashboard concert before, you know what I'm talking about. Dashboard fans go to concerts not just to listen to Chris sing, but to sing a long with him. In fact, Chris encourages it by dropping out in some parts of songs to let his audience participate and help him out singing the rest of the verse or chorus.
